Keep the Fire Burning
When you log in to your Let’s Move! membership, the first page that pops up is our Inspiration Board. Our Inspiration Board gets updated every Sunday morning and includes 1. an affirmation of the week, 2. a suggested weekly workout rotation, 3. a quote of the week, 4. a link to our latest newsletter, and 5. a mini pep talk. Here are a few things to know about the Inspiration Board:
First, I personally create it, always, and all week long I keep my ears and eyes open for a great affirmation and a strong quote that feels impactful. (Honestly, it’s one of my favorite things to do!)
Second, the suggested workout rotation’s aim is a balanced week – a nice variety of cardio, stretch and strength. I want it to be very do-able and feel-good, and I don’t want weighted workouts on consecutive days. There’s usually at least one sweaty workout in the mix too. Feel free to use your own intuition and veer from it whenever you see fit.
Third, the pep talk portion tends to be about the subtler things surrounding our workouts, like mindset and preparedness. I find the subtler things to be incredibly important to empowered wellness. Even though Let’s Move! is an online movement studio, the pep talk reinforces a major principle – that movement is really just one component underneath wellness’s big umbrella.
Bottomline: inspiration precedes your workout. It is ingredient #1. We all have setbacks, and most of us endure hard times one way or another, but regardless, keep the fire burning.
You can blow by the Inspiration Board and head straight for your favorite workouts…I won’t be offended. 😂 However, if you are craving a touch of guidance, give yourself a minute or two to read the week’s board all the way through. I find that the Inspiration Board can set an empowered tone, making your next seven days extra shiny and bright.
