“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” ―Confucius

In the fitness world, endurance has a cardio connotation – it’s actually a byproduct of cardio, in that regular cardio leads to greater endurance. Endurance begs the question, “Can the breath keep up with the oxygen demand?”  You definitely want the answer to be yes. It’s a yes to capability, to having a huge comfort zone, and to being able to go after all your dreams.

There is another aspect to endurance that’s mental and it begs the question, “Can you just keep going even if you’re bored or distracted, or if there is something way more entertaining to do?” I jokingly call a lack of mental endurance Workout A.D.DWorkout A.D.D. is a real issue these days and the only way around it is to regularly “push play” on longer workouts. It’ll train your brain to stay in the game!

That’s why our workout today is Fat Burning Fusion Two. It’s 45minutes of steady cardio – ideal for training physical and mental endurance. Remember, you got this! Stay the course. Today, endurance is your middle name.

DAY 4 OFF-THE-MAT ACTION STEP: Set a timer for 10 minutes and go outside. With your phone on airplane mode, observe your environment. Notice the bird sounds, the lighting, and whatever catches your eye. At first you might be antsy, but stay with it. By the end of the 10minutes, you’ll be calmer and more present, and you’ll be so glad you took the time to train your mental endurance.
