10DAY KICKSTART: DAY 5 STRENGTH

It feels good to be strong. It’s handy to be strong. And it looks good too! But strong doesn’t necessary mean bulging biceps – it can be subtler, especially for women. “Strong” is using core muscles with every movement. It’s stabilizing shoulders when using dumbbells. It’s breathing out on exertion, and breathing in to refuel. It’s being able to support one’s own body weight in plank. Strength, in the fusion world, is using muscles with heightened awareness.

Our workout today is an ode to strength, Abs & Arms. It’s 30minutes of fluid strength training with lots of multi-tasking. Using dumbbells that are 1 -5lbs each is all you need here. Do this workout with extra excitement today…you are getting stronger, and that is truly fantastic! 

DAY 5 OFF-THE-MAT ACTION STEP: From sun up to sundown, pay attention to how many times your physical strength is called upon. You will be amazed at how many “brawny” opportunities there are. For me, it’s all day long, from needing to restrain my 80lb dog to moving large potted plants around on my patio. The big realization is that we all need a certain amount of strength just in everyday living. Strength is helpful! Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to meet the strength demands more often than not?
