Cultivating Peace ✌

There never was a good war or a bad peace. – Benjamin Franklin

I love peace. I love the word, its meaning and the feeling of it. I’ve been pondering what peace looks like in daily life, and while it is probably different for everyone, there is one big truth today  – peace is not showing up automatically right now. It needs to be cultivated.

For me, peace comes from taking care of my self, body and spirit. You might have noticed if you follow me on instagram how obsessed I am with watching the sunset. I’m also devoted to being barefoot and outdoors, and to exercising everyday. It occurred to me that these activities ground and settle me. They produce a sense of peace. Day after day, I have “used” them like tools in a tool box to cultivate my own peace.

As you head into the weekend, contemplate this notion of peace. What creates your own sense of peace? Maybe make a list of things, and then refer to that list whenever your sense of peace is being compromised.

May peace be with you. May peace surround you. May peace prevail on Earth.
