The Only Way to Win, Ladies…🥷
I’m often asked about my take on aging now that I’m in my fifties, and I think the biggest thing is that I am very un-naive now. I’m well-versed in the ways of the world, and because of this, I don’t get thrown off my game as easily anymore, and I have a solid handle on what nourishes the human body and spirit (mine included). Getting older? It’s empowering and I highly recommend it!
However, every time I turn on my computer or open my phone, I am acutely aware of how our culture is really rough on women, preying on insecurities and exacerbating self-doubt, no matter what our age. Thus, un-naive is sobering.
The only way to win, ladies, is to not play. “Their” game only serves to rattle. Instead, you do you, hold your ground, and commit to feeling good. Beauty, energy, confidence, self-worth, drive, focus, endurance and a myriad of other attributes originate from your inner being. Protect your inner being from the “mojo vampires” that permeate society and attempt to weaken a woman’s self-esteem. A thrilling perk that comes with age is that when you’re older, you can see those mojo vampires coming a mile away and swiftly take ’em out, like a ninja. 🥷
So aging…it’s empowering. It’s sobering. And, I’m taking notes! My un-naive self will report back to you with more intel in a few more years. In the meantime, Let’s Move! Â
