New Workout: Aligned Strength

Strength without alignment is force without flow. Initially, it leads to compromised mobility, but down the road, it causes pain. When I say alignment must precede power, I’m very serious. Proper alignment is foundational to any and all types of muscle conditioning and it’s foundational to overall health.

The #1 most common and most necessary alignment adjustment is front body expansion. We live in a world of forward flexion be it driving a car, sitting at a desk, or leaning over a kitchen counter. Every single person I meet could be more “open” in their front body. You may have heard me say heart opening or space creating. That’s what I’m talking about here…and whatever we call it, it’s what everyone needs.

What happens when we expand through the front body? Increased energy, better breathing, more magnetism, greater ease, reduced neck tension, and more, but in order for front body expansion to “stick” we need back body contraction, i.e., a strong backside.  Strength needs stretch and stretch needs strength. (I’ll be saying this, like a broken record, until the day I die!)

Enter Aligned Strength, my 20minute homage to front body/back body balance. If you want to move with grace, feel good year after year, and allow for unobstructed head-to-toe energy flow, this is the workout for you. I’m very pleased with how this workout turned out, and I’d be elated if you checked it out.
