New Moon (And We Begin Again)

It’s officially a new moon (as of this evening, as I type), and I’m here for it. I look at all new moons the way many people see Mondays or January 1s. To me, a new moon is a fresh start-clean slate-new beginning, so if you veered off track, if you want to turn it up, or if you want to set sail on a new frontier, now is good to begin again. The new moon has got your back.

So what are you jonesin’ for? How about calling it in by aligning with the new moon? That’s not a crazy notion, by the way. Our ancestors paid close attention to the moon. They kept time by the moon, and made decisions by the moon. Planting and harvesting was done with the moon in mind, as were weddings and other ceremonies. Just about every culture has a lunar deity of some sort too. The moon may be mysterious, but She’s been of supreme significance for eons!

The moon starts a new “loop” today, and in about 28 (or 29) days, She’ll begin to loop anew. However, a month from now, she’ll be a new new moon, and you and me? Well, I’ll still be Ellen and you’ll still be you, but we won’t be the same as before either. New (and improved?) versions of ourselves are beckoning!

Cyclical...this is how wellness, self-improvement, and frankly all of life works. It’s cyclical!  Little by little we spiral up. And the moon? Well, She’s our reminder-teacher-guidepost…our great grandmother in the sky.

It’s a new moon, and we begin again.
Let’s Move! 🌑
