Our newest video workout, Essential Movement, delivers a playful blast of energy, embodiment and education. It is both a workout and a mini-workshop, and I often do something like it at the onset of training sessions, especially when my clients have been in their heads – and on their phones – all day. There’s nothing better than moving your body in order to get into your body! 

As a kid, I recall skipping down the street, just for fun. I’d pretend the curb was a balance beam and walk it with my arms stretched out like airplane wings, just for fun. I’d swing on the monkey bars, sometimes skipping a rung or two, just for fun. My little self was doing essential movement, without knowing it, and getting stronger and more capable everyday because of it. 

If Essential Movement feels more like a workshop to you, you may only need or want to do it once. If it feels more like a workout, perhaps you’ll use it again and again to tap into your little self, when all movement – the big and small, fast and slow, quirky and basic – was fun
