Life Is a Long Game. Act Accordingly.

Life is a long game. Shouldn’t we all covet super high functionality today and when we’re 80? Or how about vibrancy and beauty now, and also down the road? It’s possible – and I’d go so far as to say it’s inevitable – with the right movement protocol.

It blows my mind how often the true-blue cornerstones of physical fitness (the ABCs) are ignored. Alignment is so crucial!Muscle tone is so crucial!Creating space in your body is so crucial! And not only are these three things crucial, they’re up to you – no doctor or fancy prescription can do them for you.

A. ALIGN
Misalignment is the norm. People’s heads are in front of their bodies all day long. People’s shoulders are shrugging and rounding forward. People walk with an excessive turn out and have a sway in their backs. I’m going to say it – it’s a hot mess out there! We’ve got to pay closer attention to our alignment, both “all day long” and in our workouts. Every mindful movement workout promotes stellar alignment, but

Align & Shine is a standout.

B. BUILD BALANCE
When it comes to our muscle, symmetry between strength and flexibility is ideal. Muscular balance checks off all of the boxes – it feels good, it looks great, and it functions optimally. We build balance by controlled, but big, ranges of motion in every plane of movement (frontal/sagittal/transverse). There are so many mindful movement workouts that come to mind when it comes to muscle symmetry, but

Body Weight Sculpt is a solid example.

C. CREATE SPACE
Space in the body equates to freedom. Space in the body equates to flow. Space in the body equates to more energy. Creating space feels like stretching, but it’s more than stretching – it’s mindfully elongating muscles, lubricating joints, and intentionally directing one’s breath. One of the top age-defying things a person can do is keep adequate space in their body (a.k.a., stay limber, stay open). I just love

Whole Body Breathing as an example of this.

The ABCs take effect with awareness and intention. Every workout should tend to them. You should be ambitious about them. Tending to your ABCs is the epitome of empowered wellness. They can not be outsourced. You’ve got to lead yourself to water and you’ve got to make yourself drink! By design, on the home page of my website, is

feel good, look great, shine bright. Feeling good comes first. And the ABCs – your ABCs – are the catalysts to feeling good.

Life is a long game, ladies. Act accordingly.
