It’s Non-Negotiable

Thank you for your patience this past weekend as we struggled with some tech issues. The site is up and running smoothly now and all is well, but whoa, that was stressful –  iPhones and Let’s Move! are compatible again!

Speaking of stress, we’re heading into big holiday season, where life can move fast, be extra busy, and put us in uncomfortable social situations. Lots of people (including me) have “fallen off the fitness wagon” mid-November, in year’s past, because of all the hoopla, but to help prevent that from happening this time around, try using this affirmation: “movement is vital to my well-being.”(Words have power, y’all!)

Make movement your non-negotiable. Compare the days you move verses the days you don’t. I bet more often than not, the days with movement are more productive (even though movement takes time), more energized (even though movement uses energy), and happier (even though movement comes with increased challenge).

To be honest, movement is my non-negotiable all year long, but I especially hold tight to it now. I host a ton of people for Thanksgiving dinner, and I have out-of-town guests staying at my house for the week, so you bet your bottom dollar I’m exercising daily, even it’s just 15minutes of calisthenics in my PJs.  I can’t afford disembodiment and ungroundedness. I gotta bring my A-game!  Movement is vital to my well-being….and it ends up being a key ingredient to a happy holiday season too.

It’s tempting to put your workout on the back burner, but instead, how about imprinting “movement is vital to my well-being” onto your brain and acting accordingly?
