My pal brought over homegrown corn, tomatoes and string beans the other day. I was so grateful. This same person texted me, “I’m up for a hike, let’s go!” She also invited me to a cool yoga class happening on a rooftop deck. This friend is what you call a good influence

A good influence prompts positive behavior. He or she will have your back and help you lead a truly healthier and happier life. They’ll clue you into an important book or film. They’ll steer you away from bad habits like smoking or drinking too much. They’ll call you out on self-sabotage. 

I’ve had my share of bad influences over the years…luckily, I’ve lived and learned! My circle of friends now is smaller but better. High vibes only is my mantra, and I’d like to think I’m a good influence on them too. 

The deep thought of the week is this: who around you is helping you lead a healthier and happier life? Maybe it’s a spouse, a co-worker, or a long distance friend. Be sure to acknowledge them, and on the flip side, demote the bad influences. You deserve high vibes only.
