Give it your all πŸ’«

There are blurred lines between “frozen in fear” and perfectionism. In this week’s inspiration board’s pep talk, I denounce perfectionism because often it prevents taking action.

Don’t get me wrong – It’s great to care. In fact, make sure you care! However, as the saying goes….”if you don’t shoot you don’t score.” Too many people never even attempt to make the shot because of perfectionism.

What’s the cure for perfectionism? Focus on effort. Do your best and forget the rest. Ask yourself, “What can I do?” and remember, the outcome is often not under your control.

Over the years, working with actors, I see now that the one’s that worked the most, and in turn climbed the ladder to success were not perfectionists. They put their all into each role, consistently tried their best, and let the rest go. Their best was enough! And, on the flip side…the perfectionist actors I worked with have pretty much stayed in the same place.

One of the biggest wellness moves you can make is denouncing perfectionism, because it can lead to inactivity. Instead, In your life, in your work, and in your workout, give it your all. (And ironically, giving it your all is perfect. πŸ˜‰)
