Chris Evert. Katerina Witt. Martha Stewart. Gal Gadot.

There is a powerful but secret thing that: 1. never goes out of style, 2. instantly up-levels one’s appearance, 3. helps energy flow, 4. promotes better breathing, 5. is always underestimated, 6. money can’t buy, yet 7. all of the great beauties of the world have it.

What is it? Good posture…that’s organic.

Good posture is proper body alignment where a nice and clean plumb line runs down from the crown of the head, through the middle of the ears, shoulders, hips and heels. This plumb line is accompanied by a lifted heart center and melted shoulders. There’s a sustainably engaged lower abdominal with neutral pelvic alignment as well, where the natural curvature of the spine is honored. However – and this is where there’s often a disconnect – it is not stuck in stone. It flows, there’s ease, there’s no force…a.k.a, it’s organic!
Organically good posture should be a byproduct of your workout. Here are the three elements of a posture promoting workout:

  • #1 Movements should strengthen the whole body in a balanced way, including the back body and the feet (which are often overlooked areas).
  • #2 Movements should promote mobility, and this ultimately means some stretching (which is often belittled) and outside-the-box ranges of motion (many of which are often not tapped into).
  • #3 Movement have a strong emphasis on returning to ideal posture again and again. This gives the exerciser an acute awareness of how organically good posture feels.

Tennis star, Christ Evert, and Olympic figure skater, Katarina Witt, were my childhood heroes. They both had organically good posture, always. I just watched Martha Stewart’s documentary on Netflix. She had and continues to have organically good posture. And Gal Gadot, the actress who plays Wonder Woman, is another outstanding example of organically good posture. These women have acutely aligned skeletal systems, along with balanced muscular systems, but they also have flow. This combination of traits helps the body feel and function great, but it’s also very beautiful, right?

At Let’s Move! we’re vying for organically good posture. (Align & Shine is especially great!) So Let’s Move!  – it really does a body good. 🤗
