“…Always In Command Of Yourself.”

You may have heard of this man, Yogananada. He wrote a very famous book called “Autobiography of a Yogi” which transcended the yoga world and made its way onto bookshelves everywhere. The book showcased his journey on becoming an internationally renowned guru. (Some points of the book are hard to believe!)

I’ve read Yogananda’s book over and over again and have many highlighted sections. When I’m feeling out of sorts, I pull out “Autobiography of a Yogi” and find a new nugget. Well, just this morning I came upon this quote:

Remain calm, serene, always in command of yourself.

Yes…🙏 My heart is really feeling these words today. It’s like Yogananda is speaking to me from the dead. And, it’s so true…I need to remain calm, and serene. And, “Yes.” I told myself, “Be in command of yourself, Ellen.” Just the pep talk I needed!

Surely there is a book that you find just as comforting. Pull it out this weekend and browse through its pages. Notice what jumps out at you. I’ve always said, words have power… and the written word, perhaps, has even more. A big key to your wellness right now is staying in the right frame of mind. Books can help you do that. I wholeheartedly hope you extend your “workout” to include reading material that inspires you.
