A quiet Superpower
An often overlooked key to health and happiness is knowing yourself. When you know your likes and dislikes, your tendencies, and your weaknesses and strengths, you can stay on an empowered wellness path with ease. When it comes to your workout, here are three big questions you’ll want to answer ASAP, so you can get crystal clear on what your ideal workout looks like:
Question #1: what’s the best time of day for me to workout?
Forcing yourself to go on a 6am run when you are a bonafide night owl is a recipe for disaster. This type of thing is the most common “ignorant-about-one’s self” move I see on the regular. (If I had a nickel for every time a night owl crashes and burns at 6am…..)
Question #2: am I a gadget/prop/equipment exerciser or am I a minimalist?
personally, I am a minimalist (I don’t even like to wear shoes!), but lots of people find extra motivation with data collectors (like the Fitbit) or some sort of cool, sleek gear. Do you need more or less when it comes to working out? Is less more, or is more more? Now’s the time to find out!
Question #3: do I prefer to workout privately, in public, solo, or with others?
I can honestly say I have no preference, and my workout life is an equal split between it all. However, the only way my friend, Sam, gets a workout in is with group energy, while my pal, Alicia, would rather crawl under a rock than work out in a crowded gym. Some people need an appointment, or a workout buddy, or someone to hold them accountable, while others are pretty much self-governing. What’s your tendency?
Knowing myself so well has become a quiet superpower because all my self-knowledge helps me set myself up for success. That’s my wish for you – for you to set your own self up for empowered wellness success.
Learn yourself. Know yourself. Act accordingly.
Let’s Move! 🤗
