A New 45Minute Workout

Pilates Fusion has arrived, and it’s the type of workout I teach regularly. It’s effective, it feels good, and it works for just about every body.

The Pilates Method is a series or exercises, but it is also a way of looking at the physical body in both a zoomed out/big picture way, and in a zoomed in/micro-focused way. The goal of Pilates is better-ing the body. That includes better body awareness, better movement control, better balance and better alignment. #greatgoals 🤗

When I was introduced to Pilates I loved it straightaway and knew it was in my future. Here are my three top things I love about it:

  1. I love that the foot is included…no shoes (yippee!) and lots of pointing and flexing, and paying attention to the feet. This is so basic but so great.
  2. I love simultaneously stretching and strengthening…this feels great, looks great and is a key to longevity.
  3. I love that we’re not standing up all of the time. We get to lie side-lying, on our backs, face down, etc. It’s energizing and easy on the joints, but it’s also intelligent as this is a boon for circulation and for moving the lymph.

As a fit pro in the modern world, where time is of the essence, and regular day-to-day life is more sedentary than ever, here are the three top things I love to add to Pilates:

  1. I love to add hustle. Let’s get the show on the road, folks! I want your muscles to stay warm and I want us to accomplish a lot and make the most of our time.
  2. I love to add rhythm. Music and simple choreography are energizing and fun.
  3. I love to add a “not-so-critical” lens. I find too much nitpicking is disempowering for most people, and serves no point. You won’t get severe criticism from me in a Pilates class or ever. One of the unofficial motto’s at Let’s Move! is “I try my best and forget the rest.”

Pilates Fusion is 45minutes of head-to-toe invigoration. It’s everything I love about Pilates plus everything I love about working out.

So be sure to kick off your shoes, roll out your mat, log in, and push play on our newest workout. Movement is medicine – Let’s Move! đź¤—
